Vegan MoFo IV Ngày 26: Kem Sầu Riêng Thuần Chay - Durian Vegan Ice Cream (**please scroll down for English**)

Vegan MoFo IV Day 26: Durian Vegan Ice Cream

Durian is one of those fruits that might smell rather unpleasant to the non-initiated. Typically, southern Vietnamese folks can better embrace this highly nutritious fruit.

So if you want to try something Vietnamese (that not even all Vietnamese are used to), durian is great for vegan ice cream. It's very fast to make, while the texture and sweetness are wonderful.

Defrost frozen durian for about 1 minute (it shouldn't be too soft, since we want ice cream and not smoothie). Remove the seeds (about 3, 4) and put the pulp in a blender. Add 1/4 cup of organic soy milk. Purée. Pour into a small glass. Add some nuts on top - here we have walnuts, but you may add your favorite.

Once again, it may smell aromatic to some and the opposite for others. If you can brave a new experience, it's definitely worth a try. And who knows? You might even like it!

Five days remain for the official Vegan MoFo (Month of Food) this year. There are so many tantalizing vegan dishes and recipes out there - hope you will have time to try some.
