Ăn chay cho nghi lễ: Người Tây Tạng lưu vong

(IANS) Dharamsala: Trung ương Hành chính Tây Tạng, trụ sở tại Himachal Pradesh, hôm chủ nhật này (30/10/2011) đã kêu gọi tín đồ Phật giáo Tây Tạng hãy ăn chay và ngưng giết thú vật cho một buổi lễ được tổ chức tại Bihar.
Ngài Đạt Lai Lạt Ma sẽ chủ trì Pháp hội Thời Luân tại Bồ Đề Đạo Tràng từ ngày 31 tháng 12, 2011 đến 10 tháng 1, 2012.
Thư ký Bộ Tôn giáo và Văn hóa Trung ương Hành chính Tây Tạng Ngawang Choedak cho biết: “Toàn thể tham dự viên Pháp hội Thời Luân kỳ thứ 32 tại Bồ Đề Đạo Tràng đều được yêu cầu tránh thức ăn mặn và các sản phẩm thịt trong suốt thời gian đại lễ. Nỗ lực này hầu giúp buổi lễ hoàn toàn thuần chay và không sát sinh."
Choedak cho biết những vị lạt ma cao cấp trong 4 hệ phái Phật giáo Tây Tạng, cũng như hàng ngàn tăng ni và Phật tử từ khắp nơi trên thế giới sẽ tham dự buổi lễ: "Đây là một buổi họp rất thiêng liêng tại một nơi thiêng liêng cho một mục đích thiêng liêng."
Thông điệp từ văn phòng Đức Đạt Lai Lạt Ma gửi ban tổ chức buổi lễ cho biết Ngài đã đồng ý dự, thể theo lời yêu cầu của vị thủ hiến quá cố Dorjee Khandu.
Ban tổ chức cho biết Pháp hội Thời Luân được thực hiện cho hòa bình thế giới và sự phát triển tốt đẹp của Phật giáo Tây Tạng. Nghi lễ cổ xưa này nhắc đến ý nghĩa của luân xa (bánh xe) thời gian.
Đức Đạt Lai Lạt Ma và nhiều người ủng hộ Ngài đã rời Tây Tạng và tỵ nạn ở Ấn Quốc khi quân đội Trung Quốc chiếm đóng thủ đô Lhasa vào năm 1959. Hiện nay, Ấn Quốc là quê hương của khoảng 100.000 người Tây Tạng.

(IANS) Dharamsala : The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) based in this Himachal Pradesh town Sunday appealed to the followers of Tibetan Buddhism to go vegetarian and stop animal slaughtering for a ceremony to be held in Bihar.
The Dalai Lama will head the Kalachakra ceremony in the sacred Buddhist site of Bodh Gaya Dec 31-Jan 10.
“All those attending the 32nd Kalachakra at Bodh Gaya are requested to refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food and meat products during the entire duration of the event,” CTA’s department of religion and culture secretary Ngawang Choedak said.
“It is an effort to make the ceremony purely vegetarian and slaughter free,” he added.
Choedak said high reincarnated lamas of the four sects of Tibetan Buddhism as well as thousands of monks and followers of Buddhism from all over the world would attend the ceremony.
“It’s a very sacred gathering at a sacred place for a sacred purpose,” he said.
A communication from the Dalai Lama’s office to the ceremony organisers said the Nobel laureate has agreed to participate as requested by the late Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Dorjee Khandu before his death in a helicopter crash in April.
Ceremony organisers said the Kalachakra is held for world peace and for the smooth flourish of Tibetan Buddhism. The ancient ritual refers to the wheel of time.
The Dalai Lama, along with many of his supporters, fled Tibet and took refuge in India when Chinese troops moved in and took control of Lhasa in 1959. Currently, India is home to around 100,000 Tibetans.
